Head of the TYA Centre - Jeremy Harrison

Jeremy-20March14-8953Jeremy Harrison was one of the country’s leading actor musicians before going on to run the Actor Musicianship programme and the recently-established MA in Theatre for Young Audiences at Rose Bruford College. He trained at RADA before gaining a BA (Hons) with the Open University and a Masters in Theatre Practices from the University of Manchester. He has worked in theatre, film and television as a performer, MD, composer and director both in the UK and internationally and he was a core member of John Doyle’s award-winning ensemble of actor musicians from 1997 until 2001.

He is Higher Education Advisor to the TYA UK and Artistic Director of Theatre Jemilda, a company specialising in actor-musician work for children and young people, whose work has toured the UK and been seen at Takeoff! Festival. He has had articles published on actor-musician practice and children’s theatre and is currently working on a book on actor musicianship for Bloomsbury/ Methuen Drama to be published in 2016.
